From Tweet Cloud to Mobile Boot Camp

I just generated my tweet cloud a few minutes ago and the top three words were: mobile, camp, boot. We just concluded a 3 day Mobile Boot Camp at Strathmore University.

These camps are proving to be life changing to the people who attend them. Amos Gichamba a participant of the last Boot Camp in July 2009 and the winner of the last competition, invented M-Kulima.

This year Amos was a facilitator for one of the lab sessions. He said that  since he attended the boot camps, he feels at home with mobile applications and believes the mobile phone is the most suitable tool to reach out to the people in the rural areas of Kenya. I have encouraged Amos to start a blog about his work and share his experience with others. As promised I am compiling the happenings of the Mobile Boot Camp 3 and will upload more write-ups, photos and videos in the course of the week. Have a fabulous week!🙂

    Hello,

I saw your story on CNN and was happy to see someone pushing for more development of mobile apps applying to normal everyday circumstances, especially in countries with little or no internet in most communities. To see someone take initiative in bringing to light the advantages of technology in general, is awesome. Good luck in your venture. I do hope with your effort, information can find more people easier and faster helping to balance things out a bit😉. Information is key to all success business and personal!!

    Take care.
    Jim
